Job summary

MIRATECH is seeking an experienced Welder (TIG) to weld stainless steel parts on site at the Knoxville facility. The role requires reading project plans and blueprints, ensuring QC standards, and delivering high-quality results with safety and timeliness in the welding area.

The candidate should have at least 1 year of metal fabrication experience, be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, and work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 1+ year(s) with metal working equipment in metal fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG welding of stainless steel parts.

• Knowledge of QC and product specifications.
• De-bur and grind metal to achieve proper surface texture.
• Conserve resources to meet budget and client satisfaction.

Reports to: Knoxville Plant Manager

Cooperates with: Welding, Fabrication, Substrate Assembly, Shipping

Primary Responsibility: The welder has primary responsibility of TIG welding stainless steel parts. Each job must be run with safety, accuracy and timeliness in the welding area.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform TIG welding based on product needs; welding round and rectangular elements.
• Read and interpret project plans, blueprints and other written instructions and diagrams to perform necessary task.
• Knowledge of QC and product specifications.
• De-bur and grind metal as necessary to achieve proper surface texture.
• Conserve resources wherever possible to ensure budgetary integrity and client satisfaction.
• Knowledge of welding safety procedures and willingness to use PPE's provided.
• Ability to perform Substrate Assembly Technician duties as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma.
• 1 + year(s) experience with metal working equipment in a metal fabrication facility.
• Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with little direct supervision.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Ability to produce high quality products in a timely manner.
• Proficient in the use of tools such as tape measure, calipers, forklifts, and cranes.
• Welding certification a plus.
• Prior work experience as a MIG or TIG welder helpful.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. individually and heavier items with team lift.
• Knowledge of safe workplace practices.
