Job summary

Canam Steel Corporation is seeking a Welder I at our Buckeye, AZ facility. You will fabricate and weld metal structures and components to our specifications, performing MIG welds and reading weld symbols on blueprints.

This entry-level role offers on-the-job training and the chance to join a safety-focused manufacturing team. You'll work first shift, with overtime and production bonuses, and participate in quality assurance, equipment setup, and routine inventory checks as needed.

Qualifications

• No experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• Must pass internal 1G welding test.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.

Job description

The Welder I is responsible for fabricating and welding metal structures and components to create finished products according to specifications and quality standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Read and interpret weld symbols on technical drawings and blueprints.
• Configure welding machines and equipment.
• Perform welding operations using MIG welding techniques to conform to specified dimensions.
• Ensure all welds are complete and meet required quality standards.
• Repair bad welds as necessary.
• Use and operate various cutting equipment (oxy/acetylene torch, Air Arc, or plasma cutter).
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Adhere to safety protocols.
• Assist with the annual inventory audit process.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Regular, reliable, punctual and consistent attendance. Must be able to work regular and/or flexible hours or shifts, overtime, weekends as required.

REQUIREMENTS

• No experience necessary. On the job training provided.
• Ability to pass an internal 1G welding test.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Frequent communication with others to exchange information.
• Frequent repetition of motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
• Frequent moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
• Frequent lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.

• Constantly maintaining concentration and focus on tasks.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Manufacturing floor with machinery.
• Exposure to airborne particles, loud noises, and extreme heat and cold.
• Use of personal protection equipment is required.

Anticipated Pay Range

$20 / Hour + overtime and weekly production bonuses
