Canam Steel Corporation in Maryland is seeking a Production Worker for 1st shift to join our manufacturing team. You will perform production welding in a fast-paced environment, read weld symbols on shop drawings, and help ensure high-quality welds while maintaining a clean, safe workspace.

The position offers a 1st shift schedule with overtime, a compensation package totaling approximately $62k for a 50-hour week, and benefits including medical, dental, vision and a 401K with employer match.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years of experience and/or training or equivalent.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.

• Ensures that all welds are complete and of good quality; repair bad welds as necessary.

Career Description

We are looking for self-motivated and safety-conscious candidates who would like to join our production team.

New employees can earn $62k in total compensation when working at Canam Steel Corp for a 50-hour work week. This includes the base rate, shift differential, overtime, retention and production bonuses.

1st Shift Schedule

Monday - Friday 6am-2:30pm with mandatory overtime to 3:30pm and Mandatory Saturday Overtime 6am-12pm

Occasional weekend availability needed

Must be able to work all schedules

Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs production welding in a fast paced environment.
• Read and interpret weld symbols on shop drawings and blueprints.
• Ensures that all welds are complete and of good quality; repair bad welds as necessary.

Anticipated Pay Range

$23.32 /hour + $1 Shift Differential + production bonuses and OT as needed

Career Requirements

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
• One to three years of experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.

Physical Requirements

• The ability to stand continuously, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Frequently reach overhead with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, bend crouch, or crawl.
• Climb or balance frequently.
• Capable of lifting 60 lbs or more
• Close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus

Work Environment

• Open shop environment -- may be exposed to cold and hot work spaces.
• Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
• Noise in the work environment is generally very loud.
