Canam Steel Corp is seeking self-motivated and safety-conscious candidates to join the production team in Maryland. The position offers a 50-hour work week with a total compensation of about $62,000, including base pay, shift differential, overtime, retention and production bonuses.

There are additional earnings through referral bonuses and mentoring incentives. The 1st shift runs Monday to Friday from 6am to 2:30pm, with mandatory overtime to 3:30pm and mandatory Saturday overtime 6am-12pm,

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years welding experience or training.
• Ability to read and interpret weld symbols and blueprints.

Responsabilités

• Perform production welding in a fast-paced environment.
• Read weld symbols on shop drawings and blueprints.
• Ensure welds are complete and of high quality; repair as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• Perform daily area cleaning and maintenance.
• Work in a safe and productive manner.
• Assist with other production duties as assigned by supervisor.

New employees can earn $62k in total compensation when working at Canam Steel Corp for a 50-hour work week. This includes the base rate, shift differential, overtime, retention and production bonuses.

1st Shift Schedule

Monday - Friday 6am-2:30pm with mandatory overtime to 3:30pm and Mandatory Saturday Overtime 6am-12pm
Occasional weekend availability needed
Must be able to work all schedules

Performs welding operations and related tasks such as gathering required parts, setting up materials for welding and welding joist products.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs production welding in a fast paced environment.
• Read and interpret weld symbols on shop drawings and blueprints.
• Ensures that all welds are complete and of good quality; repair bad welds as necessary.
• Maintains a positive, clean and orderly work environment.
• Performs daily cleaning and maintenance of area.
• Works in a safe and productive manner.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor including but not limited to; cleaning, steel scrap removal, and other production related jobs.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
• One to three years of experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.

Physical Requirements:

• The ability to stand continuously, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Frequently reach overhead with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, bend crouch, or crawl.
• Climb or balance frequently.
• Capable of lifting 60 lbs or more
• Close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus

Work Environment:

• Open shop environment -- may be exposed to cold and hot work spaces.
• Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
• Noise in the work environment is generally very loud.
