Job summary

Canam Steel Corporation in Buckeye, AZ is seeking a self-motivated maintenance technician to join the production team. The role entails troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to keep industrial equipment running smoothly.

New employees can earn up to $80K in total compensation for 40–50 hour weeks, including base pay, shift differential, overtime, retention and production bonuses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school preferred.
• At least 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• At least 1 year of welding and fabricating experience preferred.
• Knowledge of overhead cranes, bearings, hydraulics, and drives.
• Must have low voltage electrical knowledge.
• Experience operating, troubleshooting and repairing various production machinery.
• Basic PLC knowledge/experience.
• Basic automotive/trailer maintenance knowledge.
• Must have knowledge of lockout/tagout and PPE.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
• Analyze and repair equipment such as overhead cranes, roll formers, press brakes, and welders.
• Assist with servicing and repairing more complex equipment.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Maintain attendance and flex shifts, including overtime and weekends.

We are looking for self-motivated and safety-conscious candidates who would like to join our production team in our Buckeye, AZ location!

New employees can earn $80K in total compensation when working at Canam Steel Corp for a 40-50 hour work week. This includes the base rate, shift differential, overtime, retention and production bonuses.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Perform troubleshooting and repairs on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
• Analyze, troubleshoot and repair equipment - overhead cranes, roll formers, press brakes and resistance
• welders.
• Assist with the servicing and repairing of more complex equipment.
• Comply with applicable regulations and the department's Safety program
• Perform general building repairs and maintenance
• Perform general trailer and vehicle maintenance on yard equipment- forklifts, yard trucks, and shop vehicles.
• Adhere to safety protocols.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Regular, reliable, punctual and consistent attendance. Must be able to work regular and/or flexible hours or shifts, overtime, weekends as required.

Career Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent. Technical school preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Manufacturing floor with machinery.
• Exposure to airborne particles, loud noises, and extreme heat and cold.
• Use of personal protection equipment is required.

Shift

2nd shift, Monday - Friday 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM + OT as needed, including some weekends. Training will be on 1st shift and then move to 2nd Shift, Mon-Fri 5:00am - 1:30pm. Must be available to work all shifts.
