Job summary

Wastequip is seeking a MIG welder for our Winamac, IN manufacturing operation. This full-time position offers excellent benefits, including health insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid vacation and sick time, and more.

You will set up parts, tack weld, and complete welds on refuse-truck assemblies. The job requires reading blueprints, using a tape measure, and welding in vertical, horizontal and overhead positions while maintaining quality and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, preferred
• 1+ years of related MIG welding experience

Responsibilities

• Welds on production line for refuse truck assemblies.
• Sets up, positions, and tack welds parts as per layout.
• Welds vertical, horizontal, and overhead lines.
• Connects regulator valves to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders for cutting torch.
• Turns regulator valves to control gas flow and adjust flame.
• Examines weld bead size and weld quality; grinds excess weld and slag.

The ideal candidate will be a MIG Welder with prior experience in a manufacturing environment.Pay: $23.41Shift: FirstResponsibilitiesPositions parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or floor, or clamps parts together along layout marksWorking in a production line, Welding Refuse trucks assemblyLays out, positions, and tack welds work piecesWelds along vertical, horizontal, and overhead weld linesConnects regulator valves to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders for cutting torch. Turns regulator valves to activate flow of gases, lights torch, and adjusts gas mixture and pressure to obtain desired flame.
