Job summary

Computechmfg is looking for a skilled welder to perform GTAW welding and brazing on precision thin wall stainless steel and aluminum for aerospace applications. The role involves dimensional and visual inspections, ensuring high-quality standards throughout the fabrication process.

Qualifications

Description

GTAW welding and brazing of precision thin wall stainless steel and aluminum weldments for aerospace applications. Will perform dimensional and visual inspections to blueprints using standard gages, and other quality procedures. Machining experience is a plus.

Requirements

• Receives instructions, prints, and work orders for the job. Plans details of working procedure and tools and material requirements.
• Fabricates equipment by cutting, burning, and welding various metals. Repairs equipment by using welding techniques and appropriate welding equipment.
• Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded. Sets up, assembles, and tacks weld parts.
• Builds up worn or defective surfaces.
• Uses burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and to cut material to size and shape.
• Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly.

Education & Experience

Completion of formal apprenticeship program or two (2) years’ experience preferred.

Work Environment

Must have the ability to work successfully in an environment that emphasizes quality, performance, cross-training, customer service, high accountability and Lean Manufacturing processes. May be required to work overtime on short notice.

This position operates in an air-conditioned plant environment where there may be an elevated noise level.

Considerable glare emits from work requiring the wearing of personal protective equipment. Exposure to flying objects, such as chips and scale.
