Job description

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for welding of heavy-duty suspension product.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Ø Must be mechanically inclined and able to use hand tools

Ø Weld parts as necessary to meet production standards.

Ø Must be able to use basic inspection equipment such as calipers, mics, torque wrenches and various gauges and other tools.

Ø Perform source inspection using traveling check sheet on every unit

Ø Perform daily TPM

Ø Uses stop the line authority at any sign of safety or quality concerns

Ø Performs daily duties per work instructions / standard work

Ø Completes all daily data collection as established

Ø Must perform daily 5S activities

Qualifications / Training / Skill Requirements:

Ø Must be able to read blueprints

Ø Must have good understanding of inventory control

Ø Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions

Ø Must have or be able to obtain a fork truck license

Ø Must recognize the importance of working in a safe manner

Ø Ability to understand what constitutes quality products

Ø Possess basic math skills

Ø Average or above average skills in numeric and visual recall

Ø Must be computer literate

Ø Must pass annual weld test

Education Requirements:

Ø High school diploma or GED

Ø Welding schooling preferred

Experience Requirements

Ø Welding experience is preferred.

Physical Demands:

Ø Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Ø Ability to stand for long periods of time

Ø Ability to work in sometimes extreme temperatures

Ø Teamwork: Able to communicate effectively, participate as a member of a team and work well with others to maximize efficiency.

Ø Quality: Familiar with company policies and demonstrates knowledge of relevant procedures and importance of producing quality products.
