As a Welder at Ryerson, you will be responsible for applying welding and fabricating processes to metal and ensuring quality and customer standards are met.

Shift: Monday through Thursday, 2:30 pm to 1:00 am

Roles and Responsibilities

• Apply appropriate welding and assembling applications in a fabrication environment, processing metals such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
• Work according to layouts, work orders, and blueprints using MIG and TIG welding equipment; lay out and mark weld points; position pieces into jigs and fixtures using measuring instruments and hand tools.
• Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications.
• Observe all standard safety practices and maintain all required records.
• Work safely using prescribed safety equipment, including PPE.
• Perform other duties as assigned, with responsibilities and activities subject to change.

Requirements

• Successfully pass a skills-based assessment evaluating reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a steel or industrial manufacturing setting preferred.
• Extensive MIG welding experience; TIG welding experience preferred.
• Experience with forklift and overhead crane operations.
• Physical ability to pass exams for vision, hearing, and mobility.
• Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of onboarding.
