Are you a hands-on worker who takes pride in solid, high-quality welds? We’re looking for a welder to join our team, someone who knows their way around MIG and TIG welding and isn’t afraid to take on a variety of metal fabrication tasks.

You'll be working in a brand-new, modern shop that’s air-conditioned, clean, and equipped with top-notch tools. Air quality is excellent, and you’ll have everything you need to do your job right.

We work four 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday. If we need to put in overtime, it’s on Friday.No weekends.

Job overview

In this role, you’ll use MIG and TIG welding techniques to bring our designs to life, working with a variety of materials and metal fabrication tools. From reading blueprints to finishing welds, your attention to detail will help ensure everything we produce meets the highest standards.

Here are the specifics:

  • Perform smooth high quality MIG and TIG welding with working knowledge of weld setup parameters for various types of materials.
  • Use metal fabrication equipment to fabricate parts that may be needed for welding jobs which may include metal cutting tools, press brakes and any other metal fabrication equipment in the department.
  • Use multiple machines to cut material to drawn specifications, programing, and maintenance and repairs when needed.
  • Use custom and precision measuring instruments including micrometers, jigs and miters to measure dimensions and ensure accuracy of fabricated parts.
  • Read blueprints including welding symbols.
  • Finish grinding required using manual power tools to smooth weld surfaces – removing burrs, sharp edges and other imperfections from work piece.
  • Use appropriate PPE and follow established safety regulations and procedures.
  • Use tools and equipment to manipulate materials including tube benders, drills, presses, grinders, etc.
  • Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and follow through on commitments.

Work Environment

  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry materials up to 50 pounds regularly and 100 pounds rarely.
  • Exposure to machinery, noise, and production-related hazards; use of PPE required.
  • May involve overtime or weekend work based on production needs.
  • Work environment is fast-paced and may include fluctuating temperatures and airborne particles.

What you’ll need to succeed in this position:

  • Associates degree in technology or welding preferred with a minimum of 1 year of related experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be knowledgeable in welding symbols, able to read technical manuals, blueprints and various documents.
  • Knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures in area(s) of machine shop/welding operations and familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledgeable of wire and filler material applications for mild steel alloys, aluminum and other non-ferrous materials; working knowledge of weld setup parameters (amps, volts, currents).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external individuals.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • All-encompassing machine shop skills and experience preferred.
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills required.
