Job description

Cleaver Brooks is looking for a Welder/Fabricator - 2nd Shift to join our team in Lincoln, NE. The Welder/Fabricator will fabricate and weld pressure vessels and related components in accordance with ASME code. Job Location: Lincoln, NE (6940 Cornhusker Highway)

Essential Functions:

1. Understand and follow all safety rules.
2. Learn to operate overhead cranes, scissor lifts, scaffolding, and ladders.
3. Work in confined spaces and at heights up to 25 feet.
4. Read blueprints and process sheets accurately (preferred).
5. Follow 5S housekeeping procedures and Lean Manufacturing practices.
6. Use IFS timekeeping system accurately.
7. Meet safety, quality, and production standards.
8. Learn and perform weld certifications, including following procedures for Welder Performance Qualification Testing.
9. Perform work as a Floater in various departments as assigned.
10. Apply creativity, judgment, and management skills to achieve results.
11. Ensure duties and projects are accomplished efficiently and cost-effectively.
12. Support peers and management on projects.
13. Adhere to company policies.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Requirements:

Education:

• High School diploma or GED; 2-year degree in Welding Technology preferred.

Experience:

• Gas Metal Arc Welding experience preferred.
• Experience with TIG and SMAW welding and ability to pass ASME 6G welding test preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and measurement tools preferred.
• Metal Fabrication experience preferred.

Physical Skills & Effort:

• Lift up to 80 lbs. occasionally, work in confined spaces, and at heights up to 25 feet.
• Work in temperature variations, and expose to noise, dust, fumes, and oils.
• Use personal protective equipment properly.
