Job Title: Welder

Job Responsibilities:

1. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements
2. Select appropriate welding equipment and materials based on job specifications
3. Set up welding equipment and adjust controls for optimal performance
4. Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal parts
5. Join metal components using various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, stick, etc.)
6. Perform quality checks on completed welds to ensure they meet specifications
7. Maintain and repair welding equipment as needed
8. Clean and prepare metal surfaces prior to welding
9. Cut, grind, and shape metal pieces to fit project requirements
10. Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate protective gear
11. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete projects efficiently
12. Keep work area clean and organized
13. Maintain accurate records of materials used and work completed
14. Assist in training new welders and apprentices as needed
15. Stay current with industry trends and new welding technologies

Skills Required:

• Proven experience as a welder, with a minimum of 2 years in the field
• Proficiency in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, stick, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
• Knowledge of safety procedures and willingness to follow them strictly
• Physical stamina to work in various positions and lift heavy materials
• Basic math skills for measuring and calculating material requirements
• Good problem-solving abilities to address unexpected issues
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Effective communication skills to interact with colleagues and supervisors
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new welding technologies and techniques
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certifications a plus
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
