Job Title: Welder

Job Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements
- Select appropriate welding equipment and materials based on job specifications
- Set up welding equipment and adjust controls for optimal performance
- Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal parts
- Join metal components using various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, stick, etc.)
- Perform quality checks on completed welds to ensure they meet specifications
- Maintain and repair welding equipment as needed
- Clean and prepare metal surfaces prior to welding
- Cut, grind, and shape metal pieces to fit project requirements
- Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate protective gear
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete projects efficiently
- Keep work area clean and organized
- Maintain accurate records of materials used and work completed
- Assist in training new welders and apprentices as needed
- Stay current with industry trends and new welding technologies
Skills Required:
- Proven experience as a welder, with a minimum of 2 years in the field
- Proficiency in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, stick, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Knowledge of safety procedures and willingness to follow them strictly
- Physical stamina to work in various positions and lift heavy materials
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating material requirements
- Good problem-solving abilities to address unexpected issues
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication skills to interact with colleagues and supervisors
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new welding technologies and techniques
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certifications a plus
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
