Job Title: Welder Job Description

This role involves reading and following work orders and blueprints to accurately tack and weld various metal components according to project specifications. You will use measuring tools to ensure precise placement of welds, perform ongoing quality checks throughout each project, and grind your own welds as needed to achieve a clean, finished product.

Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret work orders and blueprints to determine project requirements and welding specifications.

  • Set up welding equipment and materials at designated welding stations in a job shop/production environment.

  • Perform MIG welding to tack and weld together various metal pieces according to project drawings.

  • Use a tape measure and other basic measuring tools to verify accurate placement and alignment of welds.

  • Conduct quality checks throughout the welding process to ensure work meets required standards and tolerances.

  • Grind and finish welds as needed to achieve a clean and structurally sound final product.

  • Follow established fabrication processes when assembling and welding metal components.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with shop safety procedures.

  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and project deadlines.

Essential Skills
  • At least 6 months of prior MIG welding experience in a setting where work orders and blueprints were read and followed.

  • Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints and work orders.

  • Proficiency in using a tape measure and basic measuring tools to ensure precise weld placement.

  • Hands-on experience with MIG welding techniques.

  • Ability to perform basic grinding and finishing of welds.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds.

  • Ability to work effectively in a job shop or production environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
