Job summary

J&D Manufacturing is seeking an experienced TIG and MIG welder to fabricate metal parts for ventilation and stall systems. The role requires reading blueprints, setting up welding machines, and producing quality components that meet specifications.

The ideal candidate has an Associate’s degree or 1–2 years related experience, with a focus on safety and teamwork in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Read work orders and blueprints to determine product instructions and specifications.
• Operate welding machines to join or bond components.
• Inspect and measure finished pieces to ensure conformance to specs.
• Follow safety rules and use protective equipment at all times.
• Identify and report quality issues and equipment maintenance needs.

Responsibilities

• Read work orders and blueprints to determine product instructions and specifications.
• Set up, operate, and tend welding machines that join components.
• Load parts into welding machines and bond components.
• Align and clamp work pieces in fixtures for bonding or heat treatment.
• Inspect parts for conformance to specifications and record results.
• Coordinate distribution of work orders to downstream departments.
• Meet production quotas and verify ventilation systems are functioning.
• Identify safety hazards and report them immediately.
• Assist teammates and maintain good housekeeping in the area.

SUMMARYTIG and MIG weld parts and components for the manufacture of ventilation systems, stall systems, and other J&D Manufacturing products.ESSENTIAL DUTIESTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.Read work orders and blueprints to determine product or job instructions and specifications.Set up, operate, and tend welding machines that join or bond components to fabricate metal parts.Load or feed parts into welding machines in order to join or bond components.Assemble, align, and clamp work pieces into holding fixtures to bond, heat-treat, or solder fabricated metal components.Correct problems by adjusting controls or by stopping machines and opening holding devices.Inspect, measure, or test completed metal work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications.Record completion of metalworking on specified work orders.Coordinate distribution of finished work orders to subsequent departments.Meet production quotas as assigned.Verify that ventilation systems are working properly at all times.Identify that needed equipment maintainence is reported via a maintainence request form and given to Production Supervisor.Communicate with and assist other workers in work area.Follow good housekeeping practices.Assist in identifying and resolving quality problems.Perform necessary quality checks as required.Follow all safety precautions and use protective equipment as required.Identify and immediately correct any safety hazards in work area.Perform any other duties as assigned.Responsible for generating team spirit and creating and maintaining a personal attitude and work environment that fosters the highest level of employee cooperation, morale and satisfaction.An Associate’s Degree; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in manufacturing is preferred.
