Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience welding sheet metal in manufacturing or fabrication environment preferred.
  • Proficient in MIG/TIG welding of thin-gauge sheet metal.
  • Able to read blueprints, weld symbols and fabrication drawings.
  • Knowledge of welding properties of various metals and heat control to prevent warping or defects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG and TIG welding on variations of metal components.

  • Prepare materials by cleaning, grinding, and fitting before welding.

  • Maintain production records and document completed work.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality inspectors, and team members to resolve defects.
  • Operate other fabrication tools and equipment as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Job Summary

Responsible for performing high-quality welding operations on sheet metal components using MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding techniques. This role involves interpreting blueprints, fitting and assembling parts, and ensuring that welds meet precise engineering and quality standards. The MIG/TIG Welder works as part of a fabrication team to produce accurate and reliable metal assemblies used in various industrial applications.

Job Function
  • Perform MIG and TIG welding on variations of metal components.

  • Inspect finished welds for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to specifications using appropriate measuring instruments and visual checks.
  • Maintain welding equipment, tools, and fixtures in good working order.
  • Adhere to company welding procedures, safety policies, and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentations of completed work.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality inspectors, and team members to address production challenges and resolve defects.
  • Operate other fabrication tools and equipment as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Required Skills
  • Education and experience:
    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Certification in MIG/TIG welding is preferred.
    • 2 or more experience welding sheet metal using MIG/TIG techniques in a manufacturing or fabrication environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge and skills:
    • Proficient in MIG/TIG welding techniques on thin-gauge sheet metal.
    • Skilled in reading blueprints, weld symbols, fabrication drawings.
    • Knowledge of welding properties of various metals and understanding of heat control to prevent warping or defects.
