Aerotek in Addison, IL is seeking a skilled welder to join our team. You will perform MIG, TIG, and flux-core welding on stainless and carbon steel, read blueprints, and ensure high-quality welds with precision. This contract-to-hire role offers growth into advanced welding or machine operator positions.

Work 7:00 am to 2:30 pm on first shift in a shop environment. Benefits include medical, dental, 401(k), and paid time off; competitive pay in the $18.75–$20.00/hr range with potential raises.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist with blueprints to ensure accurate project execution.
• Operate welding machines, connect cables and adjust settings for weld penetration and appearance.
• Activate gas flow by regulating valves and adjust gas mixture and pressure for the flame.
• Guide electrodes or guns along weld lines, maintaining arc length and speed.
• Weld steel and zinc parts, securing with bolts or clamps.
• Interpret tape measures accurately for welding tasks.
• Proficient in MIG welding and basic TIG welding.
• Proficient in grinding and using production equipment.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled welder to join our team, where you will be responsible for executing precise welding tasks. You will be involved in welding various materials and ensuring high-quality results. This role offers the opportunity to grow into advanced welding or machine operator positions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with blueprints to ensure accurate project execution.
• Demonstrate the ability to operate welding machines efficiently, including connecting cables and adjusting machine settings for optimal weld penetration and appearance.
• Activate gas flow by turning regulator valves, adjust gas mixture and pressure for desired flame, and perform cutting tasks.
• Manually guide electrodes or guns along the weld line, maintaining arc length and speed to join workpieces with supervision.
• Weld flat, cylindrical, or irregular parts by securing them with bolts, clamps, or tack welding before welding.
• Perform welding on steel and zinc materials.
• Read and interpret tape measures accurately.
• Experience with Mig welding.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and work orders.
• Basic welding skills including Tig welding, Mig welder, and Flux core.
• Ability to perform fabrication and assembly tasks.
• Experience with welding various materials such as stainless steel, mild steel, carbon steel, and aluminum.
• Proficient in grinding and using production equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 6 months of relevant welding experience or certification.
• Ability to use a tape measure accurately.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.75 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
