Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a 1st Shift Automation Maintenance Technician in Toledo, OH to maintain robotic welding equipment and related automation systems. You will diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance to support continuous production on a fully onsite operation.

You will work with Fanuc robots, read blueprints, and perform electrical work up to 480V, while collaborating with engineering to implement long-term fixes and improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience performing maintenance on robotic welding equipment and automation systems.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues up to 480V.
• Familiarity with robot troubleshooting, welding processes, and fabrication tasks.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Job Title: 1st Shift Automation Maintenance Technician

Shift/Pay/Additional Information

• Shift: 6AM - 2:30PM
• Pay: $30 - $38/hr - Depending on Experience

~ Benefits kick in on the 1st of the month after 30 days

~ Tools: MUST HAVE OWN - We provide replacements for anything broken in use in the facility.

~ PTO - Skilled trades get 80 hours (prorated based on hire date) for their first two years, and then when they hit the year of their 3rd anniversary PTO increases by 8 hours that year and every year

Responsibilities

• Perform cradle-to-grave maintenance on robotic welding equipment, pedestal welders, manual clinch machines, conveyor equipment, and welding cells to support continuous production.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on secondary equipment, including pneumatics, hydraulics, sensors, motors, valves, contactors, motor starters, cylinders, and air cylinders.
• Troubleshoot and repair robots, including resolving issues with picking items, mobility problems, bead thickness, and homing errors, as well as other performance-related faults.
• Maintain and repair weld cells by correcting weld faults, changing welding tips, replacing sensors, and performing other necessary adjustments and repairs.
• Conduct electrical troubleshooting up to 480V single-phase and three-phase, including setting up and running power to 480V lines in a safe and compliant manner.
• Pull wire, bend conduit, and assist with wiring of control panels to support new installations, upgrades, and repairs of automation and production equipment.
• Use a volt meter daily to test, verify, and diagnose electrical circuits, components, and systems.
• Perform MIG welding and fabrication, and occasionally stick welding, to repair or modify equipment, fixtures, and structural components as needed.
• Carry out building maintenance tasks to ensure the facility remains safe, functional, and well maintained.
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical drawings to guide troubleshooting, repairs, and installations.
• Work at heights up to 40 feet using appropriate equipment and safety procedures to service overhead systems and equipment.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Fanuc robots, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime.
• Swap out motors and related components as part of preventive maintenance and corrective repair activities.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement long‑term corrective actions.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage to support accurate record‑keeping and continuous improvement.
• Maintain and use personal tools effectively while leveraging facility‑provided replacements for tools that break during use.
• Support a high‑volume, multi‑day production schedule by working the assigned day shift and additional days as required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Toledo, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $38.00/hr.
