Job summary

Aerotek in West Chester, OH is seeking a Production Technician to operate TIG welding equipment and fabricate stainless steel and aluminum components in a manufacturing setting. Job Title: Production Technician

Job Description

The Production Technician operates TIG welding equipment to fabricate high-quality stainless steel and aluminum components in a manufacturing environment. This role sets up, operates, and maintains welding equipment, interprets technical drawings and weld symbols, and ensures all welds meet stringent aesthetic, sanitary, and compliance standards with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Operate TIG welding equipment to produce high-quality welds on stainless steel and aluminum components.

• Set up, adjust, and maintain TIG welding equipment, including torches, gas flow, and filler materials, to ensure safe and efficient operation.

• Grind, polish, and finish welds to meet required aesthetic and sanitary standards.

• Fit, align, and tack components prior to final welding to ensure accurate assembly and proper joint preparation.

• Interpret and follow blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and welding symbols to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly.

• Identify and work with stainless steel components of varying thicknesses, primarily from 16-gauge to 1/4 inch.

• Inspect welds for quality, identify defects, and perform necessary repairs or corrections in accordance with specifications.

• Maintain high-quality standards with minimal supervision and adhere to welding compliance requirements.

• Identify various diameter tubing and fittings according to customer and internal specifications.

• Work collaboratively with other team members in manufacturing, fabrication, or field installation environments to complete projects accurately and on time.

Essential Skills

• Strong manual TIG welding proficiency, including TIG welding on stainless steel components of varying thicknesses, primarily from 16-gauge to 1/4 inch.

• Ability to set up, operate, and maintain TIG welding equipment safely and effectively.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and weld symbols.

• Experience working in manufacturing, fabrication, or field installation environments.

• Capability to grind, polish, and finish welds to meet aesthetic and sanitary standards.

• Ability to identify and work with various diameter tubing and fittings according to specifications.

• Willingness and ability to become qualified in accordance with Section IX of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code for manual welding.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards with minimal supervision.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working with stainless steel and aluminum materials in fabrication or production settings.

• Demonstrated ability to repair and correct weld defects in accordance with customer and internal requirements.

• Familiarity with welding compliance standards and quality control practices in a manufacturing environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of West Chester, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
