Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a skilled MIG Welder for a contract-to-hire role in Indianapolis, IN. This first-shift position requires 1-3 years of MIG welding experience and the ability to read blueprints.

You will work with carbon steel primarily, with occasional stainless or aluminum, and operate plasma cutters and mag drills to fabricate and assemble parts with precision. Safety gear is provided and pay is weekly.

Job Description

We are actively seeking a skilled 1st Shift Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in MIG welding, primarily working with carbon steel, and will be adept at reading blueprints and operating fabrication machinery.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding with proficiency, focusing primarily on carbon steel.
• Occasionally work with stainless steel and aluminum materials.
• Interpret and utilize blueprints for accurate fabrication and assembly.
• Operate machinery such as plasma cutters and mag drills.
• Fabricate and assemble products efficiently and with precision.

Essential Skills

• 1-3 years of experience in MIG welding.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints.
• Ability to operate a plasma cutter and mag drill.
• Experience in fabricating and assembling products.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with grinders and sheet metal.
• Understanding of tape measure usage for precise measurements.

Work Environment

• Our work environment is a non-climate-controlled shop, which can experience cold temperatures in the winter and heat during the summer.
• The work schedule is Monday through Thursday from 6:30am to 5:15pm, with a 45-minute unpaid lunch and two paid 15-minute breaks.
• Fridays offer flexibility with additional hours ranging from 5 to 10 hours per week.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
