Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing is seeking a skilled welder for a 3rd shift (10:30 PM – 6:30 AM, Sunday–Thursday) at our Walker, MI plant. You will repair non-conforming parts using MIG/TIG welding, maintain equipment, and support plant flow while upholding safety and quality.

Strong welding certifications and 3–5 years of relevant experience are required, with the ability to work a demanding night schedule and stand for long periods.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Able to stand for 8-10 hours a day and perform essential functions with/without accommodation.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English to safely perform duties.
  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years in relevant work experience.
  • Certified in mig and/or tig welding.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols while servicing or maintaining equipment.
  • Repair parts/components.
  • Mig Tig Tag parts.
  • Move parts to correct location in the plant/facility.
  • Participate in preventative actions where appropriate.
  • Utilization of plexus (ERP system).
  • Conduct housekeeping for personal work area or shared facility space.
  • Maintain welding equipment.

When and Where

This will be a 3rd Shift / 10:30 PM- 6:30 AM Sunday-Thursday position located at our Plant in Walker, MI. Occasionally, this may require you to arrive early, stay late, or work on weekends, outside of our regular hours, to ensure we successfully meet customer needs, deadlines, or urgent requests.

What You Need to Have
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Able to stand for 8-10 hours a day and be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at a level sufficient to safely and effectively perform job duties, including following work instructions, safety procedures, and company communications.
  • High School Graduate or equivalent

  • 3-5 years in relevant work experience
  • Certified in mig and/or tig welding
  • Has high standards of performance for self.
