Job summary

Global Power Components seeks a Weld Lead to oversee MIG welders and fabrication staff on site. You will manage daily activities, ensure production meets schedules, and drive quality while maintaining safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires CWI certification and at least four years on a shop floor, with blueprint reading and troubleshooting skills to ensure compliance with engineering specs.

Qualifications

• CWI certification required for Weld Lead role.
• Minimum four years of manufacturing facility experience on the shop floor.
• Ability to measure, compare and perform shop calculations to meet specs.
• Experience reading blueprints and interpreting drawings.
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve shop floor issues.
• Experience with steel is a plus; detail oriented to meet customer specs.

Overview: Global Power Components is a privately held, growing manufacturer of UL steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures and modular metal enclosures for housing fully equipped electrical distribution and control equipment. Global Power Components is a privately held, financially sound, growing manufacturer of UL heavy gauge steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures, and modular metal enclosures for housing fully-equipped electrical distribution and control equipment. Due to our company growth we have immediate openings for Weld Leads.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate daily activities of MIG Welders/fabricators and delegating job responsibilities to appropriate employees
• Train and motivate staff to meet demanding manufacturing requirements and schedules
• Assist with tasks as necessary to complete assignments
• Test products/equipment for defects/malfunctions
• Work in a safe manner
• Communicate changes and updates to employees on processes and procedures

Qualifications:

• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certification
• Previous experience in a manufacturing facility on the shop floor for minimum of four (4) years
• Ability to measure, compare and make simple or complex shop calculations necessary to ensure products are in compliance with engineer or sales specifications
• Previous experience working with and reading blueprints
• Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve a variety of situations on the shop floor
• Previous experience working with steel a plus
• Previous experience leading shop floor employees and motivating them to complete jobs in a timely manner and accurately to specifications
• Must be detail oriented to meet the needs of our customers
