Job summary

Merrill Steel is seeking a Direct Weld/Fab Supervisor to lead a skilled team in our fabrication shop. You will ensure adherence to Merrill processes, monitor workflow, and drive productivity while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities include scheduling, mentoring, and coordinating with management to meet production goals. A strong background in welding, blueprint reading, and safety compliance is required.

Qualifications

• Experience leading welding/fabrication teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read complex blueprints and welding symbols.
• Knowledge of welding safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Direct Weld/Fab employees to follow Merrill processes and monitor workflow.
• Maintain 44–55 hour workweek expectations.
• Perform quality checks per Merrill Quality Manual.
• Operate overhead crane safely and conduct pre-shift checks.
• Coordinate with management to meet production schedules.
• Mentor and assign tasks based on employee skills.
• Ensure PPE use and good housekeeping.
