Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing in Cusseta, AL, is seeking a Weld Destruct technician for the 3rd shift. You will perform destructive and nondestructive tests on welds, inspect parts for conformance, and document findings to support quality objectives.

The role requires safety-conscious operation of hand and power tools and adherence to QA procedures. The position offers ESOP ownership benefits and opportunities to participate in continuous improvement efforts within a growing automotive supplier

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; ability to read and understand English instructions.
• Minimum 1 year related experience or training preferred.
• Ability to stand for long periods and wear safety shoes.
• Able to use hand and power tools to test materials and assemblies.
• Knowledge of QA practices and ability to log non-conformances.

Responsibilities

• Perform destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products.
• Inspect materials and welds for conformance to specifications.
• Operate cutters, grinders, and press equipment to break welds.
• Record results and communicate non-conformances to Weld Technicians.
• Maintain safety and housekeeping in a 3rd shift welding environment.
