Global Power Components is seeking a Weld Test Coordinator to support CWIs and drive the AWS welder certification process across our Milwaukee manufacturing facilities. You will coordinate welder testing, prepare welders for certification, review requirements, and document results while collaborating with Weld Supervisors, production leadership, and CWIs.

The ideal candidate is a Certified Welding Inspector with hands-on welding knowledge, strong organizational skills, and the ability to coach

Formación

• Must hold current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
• Strong knowledge of AWS welding requirements and welder qualifications.
• Experience in welding, fabrication, inspection, or testing in manufacturing.
• Familiarity with GMAW (MIG/MAG) welding processes.
• Ability to read blueprints, weld symbols, and related specs.
• Detail-oriented with accurate documentation.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Able to coach welders across experience levels.
• Comfortable in a shop-floor environment and cross-department coordination.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate AWS welder qualification and certification activities.
• Schedule and administer welder certification testing with CWIs.
• Prepare welders for testing by reviewing requirements and test expectations.
• Monitor weld tests and ensure procedures are followed.
• Maintain records of qualifications, certifications, and test results.
• Track certification needs and identify initial testing or recertification.
• Coordinate activities with Weld Supervisors and production leaders.
• Assist CWIs with weld inspections and documentation.
• Review results and communicate deficiencies to CWI and leadership.
• Identify recurring issues and suggest training or coaching.
• Ensure adherence to welding procedures and quality requirements.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, specs.
• Support continuous improvement in weld quality and certification.
• Promote safety, quality, accountability, and workmanship.
