Job summary

St. Vincent de Paul of Baton Rouge is seeking a Welcome Center Janitor to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming space for neighbors, staff, volunteers, and visitors.

The role focuses on sanitation, basic maintenance, stocking supplies, and courteous interactions as part of a compassionate service team. The position is part-time and non-exempt, with hours varying and may include evenings, weekends, or early mornings.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, offices, hallways, stairwells, and common areas per schedules and standards.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub floors; dust and clean furniture and fixtures.
• Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.
• Restock restroom supplies like paper towels, toilet paper, and soap.
• Empty trash and recycling; move to designated collection points.
• Keep grounds around the Welcome Center free from trash and debris.
• Respond to spills, accidents, and other emergency cleaning situations promptly.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance like changing bulbs and unclogging drains.
• Identify and report maintenance issues or safety hazards to supervisor.
