Job summary

St. Vincent de Paul of Baton Rouge seeks a warm Guest Advocate to be the first friendly face at the Welcome Center. You will greet neighbors, support sign-in, answer phones, and guide people to the right services with dignity and clarity.

You will work Monday–Friday, full-time, non-exempt, with variable hours to meet day shelter needs, and you'll report to the Welcome Center Program Manager. Commitment to confidentiality is essential.

Qualifications

• A compassionate, service-minded person who treats every individual with dignity.
• Clear, courteous communication skills in person and by phone.
• Working knowledge of computer applications and accurate record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and visitors at the Welcome Center, assisting neighbors, staff, and partners.
• Open and close the Welcome Center per procedures and maintain logs.
• Route inquiries to the appropriate service or staff member and coordinate reception coverage.
