Job summary

St. Vincent de Paul of Baton Rouge is seeking an organized Welcome Center Program Manager to lead the daily operations of our Welcome Center for the neighbors we serve, as well as our staff, volunteers, and community partners.

You will focus on building a strong team, keeping services running smoothly, and making sure the Welcome Center stays accessible and responsive to the needs of every person who walks through our doors.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in a human services field or equivalent experience.
• At least three years of experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness.
• At least two years of supervisory experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication with neighbors, staff, and partners.
• A valid driver's license.
• Willingness to adjust schedule for staffing coverage, meetings, events, and emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Welcome Center staff, handling hiring, onboarding, training, performance, and employee concerns in coordination with HR and the Chief Services Officer.
• Develop staff schedules to ensure coverage during operating hours and act as a working supervisor when needed.
• Oversee daily operations, including hours, space use, service availability, and procedures.
• Ensure services are delivered safely, consistently, and per SVDP policies and standards.
• Monitor service availability and respond to complaints and barriers affecting neighbors.
• Coordinate day-to-day communication with community partners and maintain current referral contacts.
• Ensure accurate HMIS documentation, incident reports, and required records.
• Track program KPIs, referrals, and service utilization; prepare routine reports.
• Monitor the operating budget and grant-funded expenses; coordinate with Finance on staff timekeeping.
• Oversee the Welcome Center facilities, safety, and security; coordinate maintenance with Facilities.
• Review incidents and coordinate follow-up and corrective action; conduct drills and emergency procedures.
• Coordinate response to safety, security, severe weather, and closures.
