Job summary

YMCA of the North Shore is seeking a Welcome Desk team member for the Penn Brook Elementary School YMCA Afterschool Program. You will greet families, check children in, confirm absences, and verify guardians during pick-up in a warm, efficient manner.

You will collaborate with Site Coordinators to ensure accurate daily communication about which children are going home and maintain attendance records, contributing to a safe, organized afterschool environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass EEC fingerprint background screening.
• Must be highly organized with excellent communication skills.
• Schedule is Monday–Friday 2:30pm to 6pm.

Responsibilities

• Confirm absences and check children into the program.
• Verify identities of parents/guardians during pick-up.
• Collaborate with Site Coordinators to communicate about which children are going home.
• Share feedback on each child’s day with families.

The Welcome Desk at the Penn Brook Elementary School YMCA Afterschool Program is the central hub of communication for our team. As a Welcome Desk staff member, you will foster a warm and inviting atmosphere for both families and children, building strong relationships and delivering outstanding customer service as families arrive for pick-up.

On a typical day, your responsibilities will include confirming absences, checking children into the program, and verifying the identities of parents or guardians during pick-up before reuniting them with their children. You\'ll collaborate closely with Site Coordinators to ensure accurate communication about which children are going home, while also sharing important feedback on each child\'s day with parents or guardians. Additionally, you will maintain up-to-date attendance records for the program.

To excel in this role, you should thrive in a fast-paced environment, multitask effectively, and respond to child pick-ups.
