Job summary

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development seeks an Enforcement Sergeant to supervise the Weight Enforcement Unit at the Delta facility. You will oversee field operations, enforce state and federal size, weight, permit, and taxation regulations, and guide officers and inspectors.

You will manage schedules, training, records, and investigations, ensuring compliance with DOTD policies and safety of Louisiana’s highways.

Qualifications

• Four years of law enforcement experience protecting transportation infrastructure or five years as a POST certified peace officer with arrest power.

Responsibilities

• Supervise weight enforcement operations and provide field guidance to officers and inspectors.
• Oversee daily operations, schedules, training, records, and communications.
• Conduct and oversee investigations and enforcement activities including major events and seizures.
• Manage administrative duties, reports, timekeeping, equipment, and facility needs.
