Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, transportation, operations management, statistics, logistics or related field; 4+ years of related experience or 12 years total.
• Three years supervising staff.
• Knowledge of highway safety and transportation principles.

Responsibilities

• Enforce truck weight laws and minimize downtime at scales.
• Plan and develop annual and long-term weigh station programs.
• Develop scale plans and specifications for bidding and construction.
• Perform field inspections of portable scales and weigh stations.
• Coordinate repairs and service contracts for weigh stations and scales.
• Maintain operation of the X-Ray truck program with ISP and others.
• Supervise portable scale operations for accurate axle and wheel load weighing.
• Investigate new technologies in weight enforcement and seek funding.
