Job summary

SA Recycling in Canton, OH seeks a detail‑oriented Weighmaster to operate truck scales, manage inbound/outbound loads, and process payments. You will direct drivers, complete all required paperwork, and support basic office duties in a fast‑paced environment.

Inside and outside work in varying weather is common; the role requires good math, strong communication, and ability to multi‑task while maintaining safety standards. Prior scale experience and bilingual English/Spanish are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years’ experience operating truck scales, preferably in scrap metal, mining, or similar.
• Ability to build constructive relationships with customers and teammates.
• Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Works well in a fast-paced environment; good organizational and mathematical skills; ability to multi-task.
• Intermediate MS Office; ability to learn industry-specific software.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate scale to weigh inbound and outbound trucks.
• Review, inspect, and document inbound loads.
• Direct drivers to yard locations for loading/unloading.
• Complete all documentation for vehicles and loads.
• Test scales for accuracy and report malfunctions.
• Process payments and keep transaction records.
• Assist customers with pricing questions and material types.
• Maintain account contacts to promote ongoing business.
• Perform general office duties.
