Job summary

SA Recycling is seeking a Weighmaster to operate inbound/outbound truck scales, direct drivers, and handle documentation and payments. The role blends indoor/outdoor duties in varying weather, with safety standards central to daily tasks.

Experience with truck scales and strong communication skills are essential, with bilingual EN/ES a plus. The position runs 8:00 am–4:00 pm Monday–Friday and 8:00 am–noon Saturday, with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years’ experience operating truck scales in scrap metal, quarry, or transfer settings.
• Ability to build cooperative working relationships with customers and staff.
• Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Basic math, organizational skills, and multitasking ability; familiarity with industry software helpful.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate scale to weigh inbound and outbound trucks.
• Inspect inbound loads and document them.
• Direct drivers to loading/unloading areas.
• Complete required documentation for vehicles and loads.
• Test scales for accuracy and report malfunctions to management.
• Process payments and keep transaction records.
• Assist customers with pricing questions and maintain contacts.
• Perform general office duties.
