Job summary

Kloeckner Metals Corporation is seeking a Fabrication Fitter/Welder to join a production team and execute welding tasks with precision. You will follow blueprints, set up joints, and assemble parts while adhering to safety protocols and production deadlines.

You will work with various materials and welding processes, inspect finished components, and help maintain equipment. A high school diploma or GED is required, with welding experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; welding experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and job specifications with accuracy.
• Familiarity with welding tools, equipment, and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Weld components using SMAW and GMAW processes in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Operate hand and power tools common to welding and fabrication tasks.
• Assist with layout, alignment, and securing parts before welding.
• Inspect workpieces for defects and verify dimensions meet specs.
• Handle materials safely and prepare surfaces prior to welding.
• Select torches, tips, filler rods, and flux per specs and metal type.
• Monitor welding process to prevent overheating, distortion, or damage.
• Read engineering drawings, blueprints, and material specs for execution.
• Mark materials with job numbers and identifiers as required.
• Conduct basic maintenance and report faulty equipment or parts.
• Fabricate products to match production specifications and welding procedures.
• Fulfill other tasks to support production goals as needed.
