Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of industrial fabrication welding experience.
• Ability to pass a weld test.
• Read and follow blueprints and job specifications.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with welding tools and equipment.
• High School diploma or GED required; vocational training preferred.
• Careful attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks.
• Reliable and responsible with good attendance.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing work conditions.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate hand and power tools for welding, including shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding.
• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Follow safety practices and company protocols.
• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts before welding using rulers and squares.
• Inspect workpieces for defects and verify measurements.
• Prepare surfaces and weld using various materials.
• Select torches, tips, filler rods, and flux as per specifications.
• Monitor fitting, burning, and welding processes to prevent defects.
• Read engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to plan welding operations.
• Mark materials with job numbers and identifiers.
• Maintain and repair equipment as needed.
