Job summary
Unitek Learning’s Bakersfield campus is seeking VN Instructors to join our nursing education team. The shifts are Saturdays and Sundays from 6am-7pm with a one‑hour lunch.
The role involves teaching both lecture content and clinical rotations, maintaining student records, and participating in professional development to stay current with nursing practice and safety standards. You must hold RN or LVN licensure with applicable bedside experience and meet Board requirements, including immunizations
Qualifications
- RN or LVN license with current state licensure.
- Minimum 3 years of bedside experience with a BSN, or 6 years with LVN degree.
- Meet faculty requirements set by the Board of Vocational Nursing.
- Current immunizations and Basic Life Support Certification.
Responsibilities
- Make continuous efforts to improve instruction quality using innovative teaching methods.
- Demonstrate or acquire skills for online activities to enhance course content.
- Review and revise syllabus within program guidelines.
- Submit required program reports to the Director promptly.
- Maintain student records of attendance, grades, and skill checks.
- Assist with clinical requirements, immunizations, and education records.
- Teach courses at varying times/locations to suit program needs.
- Teach both lectures and clinical rotations (including weekends).
- Participate in professional development and CE hours to renew licensure.
