Job summary

Unitek College Of Nursing's Bakersfield campus is seeking VN Instructors to join our team. Shifts run Saturdays and Sundays from 6am–7pm with a one-hour lunch, teaching both lecture and clinical rotations to nursing students.

We value instructors who can employ innovative teaching methods, mentor students, maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge, and keep accurate records. Full-time employees receive benefits, vacation, holidays, a 401K, and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• RN or LVN license in state of application
• 3 years bedside experience with BSN, or 6 years bedside with LVN
• Meet faculty requirements by Board of Vocational Nursing
• Current immunizations and BLS certification

Responsibilities

• Improve quality of instruction using innovative teaching methods
• Utilize online activities to enhance course content during interactive teaching
• Review and revise syllabus for courses within the program
• Submit program reports to the Director in a timely manner
• Maintain current knowledge of nursing practices and safety regulations
• Maintain student attendance, grades, and skills check-off records
• Update and maintain student clinical files and immunization records
• Teach courses at various times and locations to meet program needs
• Lead lectures and clinical rotations, including days/evenings/weekends
• Participate in professional development and CE hours to maintain licensure
• Engage in committees as assigned, balancing teaching duties
