Job summary

The University of Minnesota seeks a part-time Visitor Services Supervisor to oversee weekend operations at the Bell Museum. The role includes supervising the visitor desk, ticketing office, and shop, ensuring excellent guest service and inventory accuracy.

You will also support volunteers and coordinate group visits while reporting to the Visitor Services & Accessibility Manager. Ideal candidates have strong customer service experience, supervisory exposure, and a commitment to inclusive

Qualifications

• Essential: high school diploma or GED with four years related experience or equivalent.
• Two+ years in customer service with supervisory or lead responsibilities.
• Computer experience required and strong communication skills.
• Commitment to inclusive practices and equity.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and exercise independent judgment.
• Must maintain weekend shifts (Sat/Sun 9:30am–4:30pm).
• Experience handling payments via cash, check or card.

Responsibilities

• Supervise weekend operations at the visitor service desk, ticketing, and store.
• Restock inventory and maintain accurate item records for sale.
• Monitor student staff and ensure smooth customer service.
• Seal end-of-day cash drawers and enforce opening/closing procedures.
• Troubleshoot POS issues and assist with parking concerns during weekends.
• Coordinate with volunteers and provide onboarding/training as needed.
• Serve as point of contact for floor volunteers and group visits.
• Support the Student Admin Assistant on weekends.
