Asheville Museum of Science seeks a Visitor Services Coordinator – Weekend Lead to ensure a welcoming, engaging guest experience. The role combines admissions, membership, shop operations, and volunteer coordination with weekend leadership on duty.

The position requires 2+ years in guest-facing roles, strong interpersonal skills, and experience with POS and cash handling. Flexible weekends and occasional evenings are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in guest-facing or visitor experience roles; leadership or coordination experience preferred.
• Education: a degree is not required; equivalent experience will be considered.
• Comfort with Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, and POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead all weekend operations as manager on duty.
• Operate admissions desk, ticketing and membership sales.
• Manage merchandise inventory and shop reporting.
• Recruit, place, and support interns and volunteers.
• Facilitate guest experiences and STEAM activities.
• Ensure safety, exhibit checks and daily housekeeping.
• Collaborate with team to maintain a welcoming, professional environment.
