Job summary

The Virginia Museum of History & Culture seeks a Guest Engagement Associate to help ensure a welcoming environment for guests, provide accurate wayfinding information, and support a friendly retail experience. The role also involves assisting with digital outreach and on-site programming.

This part-time, non-exempt position requires strong communication, basic Microsoft Office skills, and a willingness to work weekends, holidays, and select events. Training provided.

Qualifications

• Must be responsible, flexible, punctual, and able to work well under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills and basic Microsoft Office knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Staff desks at museum entry points, assist guests with wayfinding and exploration, and provide customer service.
• Operate POS systems to process admission and retail sales, assist with visual merchandising, and maintain the store appearance.
• Fulfill web and mail-order purchases and assist with digital outreach and on-site programming for students and adults.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
