Vista Vet Animal Hospital & Pet Lodge is seeking a Veterinary Kennel Assistant to join our team in Round Rock, TX. You will care for boarding and clinical patients, assist with meals, walks, bathing, and monitoring for medical or behavioral concerns, while documenting observations for the veterinary team.

Ideal candidates are self-driven, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling dogs and cats of various sizes.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as a veterinary kennel assistant / kennel technician preferred.
• Genuine passion for animal care and patient wellbeing.
• Confidence working with dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments.
• Ability to safely handle, restrain, walk, and monitor animals under supervision.
• Comfort with basic animal husbandry including feeding, watering, bathing, grooming, and monitoring behavior.

Responsibilities

• Provide meals and walks to boarding patients and maintain daily care.
• Administer medication and monitor for medical or behavioral concerns.
• Sanitize kennels, common spaces, and treatment areas and keep supplies stocked.
• Provide light patient restraint support to the clinical team as needed.
• Document observations and communicate notes to the veterinary team.
• Stay organized and contribute to a team-focused environment.
