Job summary

Vista Vet Animal Hospital & Pet Lodge in Round Rock, TX is seeking a Veterinary Kennel Assistant to support our veterinary team with patient care, boarding duties, and sanitation. You will administer medications, monitor patient wellbeing, and maintain a clean, safe environment while documenting observations for the team.

Ideal candidates are self-driven, detail-oriented, and passionate about animal care, with 1+ year of kennel experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as a veterinary kennel assistant / kennel technician preferred.
• Related experience in animal care such as boarding or doggy daycare preferred.
• Genuine passion for animal care and patient wellbeing.
• Confidence handling dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments with supervision.
• Strong observational skills and ability to communicate concerns to the veterinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide meals and walks to boarding patients.
• Administer medication and monitor for medical/behavior concerns; document observations.
• Sanitize kennels, common spaces, and treatment areas; keep supplies stocked.
• Light patient restraint support for the clinical team as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment throughout the day.
