Job summary

AdventHealth in Shawnee, Kansas seeks an Ultrasound Technologist for weekend shifts. The role performs routine sonographic procedures to support accurate diagnosis and patient care, with ARDMS or equivalent registry required.

Weekend shifts pay time-and-a-half under the weekend worker program. Responsibilities include verifying patient history, obtaining quality images, documenting in EMR/PACS, and coordinating with radiologists to ensure optimal imaging and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Detailed knowledge of ultrasound physics and anatomy to perform independent procedures to Radiologist standards.

Responsibilities

• Performs high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams per provider orders and protocols.
• Verifies patient identity and exam appropriateness and obtains clinical history prior to scanning.
• Positions patients and equipment to acquire optimal images and data.
• Maintains EMR/PACS documentation.
• Explains procedures to patients and ensures comfort and privacy.
• Educates patients about the exam and completes exams timely.
• Operates imaging equipment safely and adheres to PPE and infection control.
• Performs exams according to department protocols and collaborates with radiologists.
• Notifies inventory and ensures rooms/equipment are clean and ready.
