Job summary

AdventHealth in Lenexa, KS seeks an Ultrasound Technologist PRN to perform routine sonographic procedures and support accurate diagnosis. You will prepare, position, and acquire high-quality images for radiologist interpretation while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

Requirements include ARDMS or equivalent registry and ongoing CE, with ability to cover day/night shifts as needed and to work across various ultrasound modalities and patient ages.

Qualifications

• Must have detailed knowledge of ultrasound physics and anatomy to perform independent procedures to Radiologist standards.
• Must possess patient care and communication skills across age groups with professional demeanor.
• Ability to learn and use Radiology software packages and PACS.
• Must maintain required registries and licenses and pursue continuing education.
• Strong computer skills including basic office software and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Performs high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams per provider orders and protocols.
• Verifies patient identity and exam appropriateness with clinical history.
• Position patients and equipment to acquire optimal images and data.
• Maintain thorough documentation in EMR and PACS.
• Explain procedures to patients and ensure comfort and privacy during exams.
• Operate imaging equipment safely and adapt protocols for all ages.
• Follow infection control standards and PPE usage.
• Ensure exam rooms are clean and stocked and equipment is safe.
• Collaborate with radiologists and other providers for imaging and patient care.
