Job summary

Golden Years ADHC in Lexington is seeking a warm, patient caregiver to provide in-home companionship and supervision for a young child with developmental delays. The role emphasizes safety, comforting presence, and engaging activities through play and music.

The caregiver will reinforce skills from therapy services as appropriate, supervise stairs, and help with routines, meals, and basic care while the parents are present in the home.

Qualifications

• Ideal caregiver is compassionate, dependable and patient.
• Experience or comfort with young children and developmental delays.
• Enjoys interactive play and a calm, encouraging presence.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive companionship and supervision for the child.
• Keep the child engaged with age-appropriate activities and play.
• Reinforce skills addressed by OT/PT/Speech when appropriate.
• Supervise around stairs and promote safety.
• Encourage independence with simple tasks and organize toys.
• Complete the child’s laundry and assist with meals, snacks, brushing teeth, and bedtime prep.
