Job summary

St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, CO offers a Weekend Option Certified Surgical Technologist role in a high-volume surgical department with 17 OR suites and a diverse caseload.

You will scrub across General, Ortho, Neuro, Spine, and more, maintaining strict sterile technique and supporting the surgeon and team. The position requires a six-month commitment to weekend shifts (Sat/Sun), 36 hours per week, with a weekend differential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program.
• Two years of experience in a surgical setting.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Current Colorado DORA registration as a surgical technologist (or scope-based exemption).
• Certification in Surgical Technology from NBSTSA or NCCT.

Responsibilities

• Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedure.
• Maintains highest standard of sterile technique during procedure by checking package integrity, indicators and opening procedures.
• Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation, before incision is closed and as needed.
• Prepares solutions and medications used.
• Properly labels and reports amounts used for charting.
• Prepare back table and mayo stand anticipating needs of the surgeon and through the use of the surgeon’s preference card.
