Job summary

Path of Life Ministries is seeking a Safety Specialist to provide supportive services and logistical support for the Shelter Program. The role focuses on safety, a trauma-informed approach, and de-escalation to help guests progress toward housing stability.

The position is non-exempt and scheduled for Saturdays and Sundays only. The role requires strong documentation, communication, and the ability to work with diverse populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness or crisis.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years in social services, security, emergency response, or related public-facing role.
• Ability to work with diverse populations including those experiencing homelessness or crisis.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred; CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, trauma-informed environment for guests.
• Assist shelter activities and maintain facility safety.
• Manage logs, incident reports, and tally sheets.
• Communicate clearly with staff, volunteers, and guests.
• De-escalate conflict and provide crisis intervention as needed.
