Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two to five years' prior work experience in a related field.
• Strong communications skills with clear, professional phone usage.
• Computer literacy and data entry in automated systems.
• Experience with homeless populations and diverse groups.
• Ability to recognize and respond to emergencies.
• Professional demeanor and confidentiality in all interactions.
• Demonstrated resourcefulness and initiative.
• Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Availability for emergency front desk coverage.

Responsibilities

• Meet with the day staff at shift start to share updates and review the Shelter Communication Book.
• Prepare for incoming guests, complete intake paperwork and consent forms.
• Ensure safety of all participants and adherence to shelter rules.
• Monitor behaviors with attentive supervision and respond to issues.
• Implement safety or emergency plans as needed.
