Job summary

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Rochester is seeking a part-time Shelter Residence Worker to support residents in a safe, trauma-informed environment. You would help with admissions, referrals, meal oversight, and daily operations while collaborating with staff and volunteers to ensure compassionate care.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree in human services, a clean NY Drivers license, and at least two years in crisis intervention or related fields.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
• Valid and clean NYS Driver’s License.
• Two years of experience in human services, crisis intervention, or emergency services.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation of the residence.
• Conduct intakes for individuals entering the residence.
• Provide information and referral services for inquiries.
• Supervise meal preparation by residents when needed.
• Provide crisis intervention and conflict management to residents.
• Maintain client census and database records.
