Job summary

Merrill Gardens at Greenville is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support residents and uphold a safe, well-maintained living environment. You will perform general maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, and carpentry, while ensuring safety and quality in common areas and units.

Responsibilities include completing work orders promptly, assisting with safety training, and helping with facility vehicles.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of related maintenance experience or training.
• Knowledge of building maintenance including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting.
• Familiarity with MSDS and safety practices.
• Flexible to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, carpentry, and equipment repair.
• Maintain walls, floors, doors, and furnishings in common areas; perform basic prep and painting.
• Repair and maintain vacated rooms and ensure timely work order completion.
• Handle in-house plumbing, electrical work, and minor repairs in units and common areas.
• Document safety issues and assist with safety training; support community vehicles and logistics.
