Job summary

Casa Esperanza Inc. is seeking a per diem Round Cook to prepare and serve meals for our patients, with weekly availability on Saturdays and Sundays. The kitchen hours are 6am-2pm, and coverage for other cooks is available as needed.

You will follow the Kitchen Manager's guidelines, cook from scratch, and ensure health and safety standards. This role requires at least 1 year of cooking for groups, ability to lift 25–50 pounds, and ServSafe or willingness to obtain certification.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of food preparation and kitchen management experience cooking for 75+ guests.
• Physical and training requirements met; ability to lift 25–50 pounds.
• Latin American cuisine experience preferred.
• ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain on hire.
• Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification or willingness to obtain on hire.
• Spanish fluency preferred.
• Regular training on nutrition and healthy meal preparation.

Responsibilities

• Follow Kitchen Manager guidelines and cover for other cooks as needed.
• Follow daily menu, prepare workload, and cook from scratch.
• Serve and store food per health and safety standards.
• Stock supplies on delivery and manage pantry items.
• Perform quality control on finished dishes.
• Request inventory items to meet demand.
• Organize and coordinate food and equipment for 3 meals per day for up to 75 people.
